Deviation Actions

This is a journal to go over some of the finer points of submission in Writers-Commentary

First of all UntamedRayne and I thought it would be a good idea to set a submission limit, this will help to make sure watchers and members of the group never get overwhelmed in deviations from the group, which can happen far to easily as the group grows.
Now this rule, as all rules is subject to change. Right now I have decided to set the limit to 3 deviations a week. If the group gets very large or begins to overwhelm then the number can go down, if the group feels slow or sluggish we can increase it. How this rule and others change will be up to you, the Writers-Commentary members, communicate to the admins any issues you have or thoughts you have and that will go a long way in how we approach the group and its rules.
Give us your thoughts on the number below. I personally doubt we will have to shrink the number, at least not for quite awhile, but if you want it increased let us know.
Also, if anyone finds that they are able to submit over or beyond what the rules are set to allow, please let us know so we can double check the settings and fix them to the proper amount. Thank you.

Secondly I want to give a quick overview of the Gallery folders and what's expected to go into them. Some are obvious, however others are a bit odd, so I'd like to go over them now and hopefully avoid confusion.

Featured - This is a folder that the average member can't submit to. What we plan to do with this is take works that we consider exceptional, unique, or otherwise somehow standing out from other works. If we one day decide to do contests, the finalists will also go here. Only the Admins may submit here, and a rule will be put in place that noone may submit their own work here. All works placed here are copied from their original folder and therefore will be found in both folders.

Poetry - A location for all types of poetry. If later distinctions between different types of poetry is asked for we are happy to create them. However for the time being we just have the one.

General Fiction - All fiction can go here if it isn't better placed elsewhere. If you need a folder for a specific type of fiction or writing, ask us and we can create it, until then we have the general folder.

General Non Fiction - Life stories? Biographies? Historical accounts? Right here. I'm not sure how much this folder will get used, but I felt it a good idea to add. Use or disuse along with members opinions can decide thoughts on the Non fiction folder.

Short Stories - A folder for short stories. We do not feel the need to define what counts as a "short" story yet, so use your best judgement. If any problems arise then we can set rules later on.

World Building - This is a folder for all the details that go into building the world your story is based in. Myths from your world? The story of how that one sword got its name? How life on your world began? Throw it all in here.

Visuals - This is the area that we created for the great writings that come in the description box of a great piece of artwork. Often times artists enjoy drawing a character or a fight and then writing out details, a story, or even poetry in the description. We are happy to encourage this in our group. This is where those art pieces will find a home. This is also where short stories, one offs, or poetry written on a visual would go.

Comics and Graphic Novels - This folder is different from visuals in two ways. First it's designed for stories being told in a comic book or graphic novel format. This means both images and words together on the page. Secondly rather than being one set scene or piece, they will fit together to create an ongoing story. They will also contain multiple sections or scenes to a page.

6 Word Stories - Based on Hemingway's famous story "For sale: baby shoes, never worn." This is where stories written in 6 words are placed.

New folders can be easily created. If you don't know where a deviation goes, or think we need a new folder for a new type of deviation that doesn't fit well into one of the other groups just ask an Admin for help.

Also, I'm not sure if the two are connected. However just in case you were invited to join the group, It would also be appreciated if you checked to make sure you are also watching the group to ensure you receive all of the latest updates, journal, and deviations. Thank you.

All questions or thoughts are welcome. Post in the comments below or message an admin.

Thanks for the support

I agree with the submission limit, too.
